GOSLYM Gospel Experience

GOSLYM Gospel Experience

Website for the Fourvière Gospel Experience event, rebuilt with WordPress and ACF Pro so the team can edit it on its own.

01

Problem

Gospel Lyon Métropole, a non-profit based in Lyon, needed visibility and wanted to promote the Fourvière Gospel Experience event.

The association did not have a website yet.

02

Constraints

Budget and deadline.

03

Successive versions

V1

Next.js and Sanity website, hosted on Netlify with GitHub continuous integration

Built on my own. Difficulties: finding the right visual identity and choosing the architecture (Netlify + Sanity).

V2

Rebuilt with WordPress and ACF Pro, hosted on Hostinger

Two reasons: the team could not edit the website on its own, and costs. Rebuilt on my own in October 2026, with the same look.

  • Custom WordPress theme; ACF Pro as the only plugin.
  • Section builder: 35 sections (programme, concerts, gallery, FAQ, partners…) that the team adds, sets up and reorders.
  • Entries for events, artists, partners, courses, testimonials and photos.
  • Every code change goes through a checked pull request, then goes live automatically.

04

Support

I manage the website. Since the rebuild, an editing guide built into the admin lets the team publish pages, events and news on its own.

05

Lesson

For an event, visual identity matters as much as the technology: the time spent finding the right look is part of the project.

A website the team cannot edit on its own keeps it dependent on its developer. For a non-profit, a well-built WordPress site that volunteers know how to use beats a more modern architecture nobody else can keep alive.
